"At times, a matronly spokeswoman for the Otomo family. At others, the radiant beauty of her younger days. What a mercurial woman." - Daigotsu Kanpeki
True Identity M'rika was a bog hag, who had infiltrated the Imperials and later the Otomo family. Her Champion Daigotsu Kanpeki knew her secret.
Sanctified Ones In the guise of a ronin, she served as a member of Empress Iweko's Sanctified Ones. In 1172 her cover as ronin was compromised as Soshi Yoshihara, the commander of the Sanctified Ones, suspected her true allegiance, but it was not known if M'rika was aware of it.
Becoming an Otomo After the Destroyer War M'rika ceased to be a Sanctified One and travelled to the colonies in the ruined Ivory Kingdoms, where she was responsible for blessing the land the Second City was built on. She married a prominent Otomo who visited the land and maintained the family's estates there, and she became Otomo M'rika. *From L5R Wiki

The details on the handle of the tanto is beautiful. The blood on it suggests that she inflicted those wounds around her neck and lower arms by herself, though the blood splatters seems to go too high on the blade part. The blood on the handle seems to point to her hand also bleeding?
I love the light source under her, but it doesn't make sense on where the light originates from considering the time the girl is placed/drawn in.
The necklace is well done, the inconsistency in the stones making it all the better. Her outfit has good colors and a nice pattern from the bits I can clearly see.
I would say this is one of your better works. It may not look like she's doing much (no aura or any fiery power surrounding her like your other works) but it is still well executed.
There is some emotion in this piece (where her gaze is), it makes us wonder what is she thinking when she stares at her hand like that. I like the details on her skin as well as her equipment designs. I would buy that dress :b
The necklace looks heavy; I wouldn't be surprised if that is what caused her neck to be wounded like that.
Good lighting but might I suggest that since the left arm has some heavy orange highlights to it, wouldn't the left part of the hair facing the room has some orange highlight as well (instead of being the same as the original hair colour since hair reflects the environment colour too)?

Great depth of field, great work overall.
