I like how you focus on the character based on the colour choices and the design of her outfit is amazing. The effects and direction of the lighting is a good choice too, it enhanced her movements. My favourite here is the intricate sword design. There's nothing wrong with it but somehow the enemy's broken sword looks funny, maybe the heat of the moment.
My gosh, Rayn. This has to be my FAVORITE out of all of your work. (So far.. Lol. Can't wait for more.)
The woman is absolutely stunning. Her hair is wonderful, those eyes are entrancing, and the expression he has on her face is 'dreamy'. She looks as if she fought this battle with absolute ease! Like it was a walk in the park and she is one hundred percent confident in her abilities.
I am not sure what you call that outfit, but the detail in every single 'stitch' is amazing. Feeling like you can reach out and touch the wrinkles within the fabric. I have always had a thing for Japanese/Chinese weaponry, but no one.. I repeat.. NO ONE has every shown such vivid detail within the guard an hilt the way you have. (I know you have multiple character such as Mirumoto Kei, another one of my favorites ) that hold a katana, but when I look at that hilt it seems tangible. Looking at it makes me feel like I already know it's texture.
Now for the scene in particular... She sliced through his entire body!? Amazing! The power and force behind her blade can easily be seen with the detail you have put into her swing. The blood splatter shooting outwards as he is cut through, shows exactly what happens. It is obvious who the more skinned and dominant fighter of the two is.
Also, I love the detail in the 'gauntlets' she is wearing. (I am not sure if their gauntlets or something under her clothes, but I did think it was some kind of armor. )
In this picture I think the 'sunburst' lighting effect that you said was your favorite, or at least one of them, is used perfectly. It gives her an almost 'godly' like presence. If someone was watching her in battle at this exact moment, I think their eyes would be wide in amazement and awe at not only her skill but natural beauty.
As said in my other critiques, everything stated in this is MY OPINION! Also, can I ask what color did you make her eyes? On my computer they come out like a deep ocean blue color with a tinge of purple...
